Shannon Airport (SNN) Ireland
Reflex-Rol (UK) supplied and installed bespoke anti-glare roller blinds for the air traffic control tower at Shannon Airport, positioned on Ireland’s west coast beside the Shannon Estuary. The airport supports long-haul transatlantic services, military movements, and cargo operations, often in rapidly changing Atlantic light and weather conditions. Controllers face low-angle sun, bright cloud cover, and reflective water glare throughout the day. Reflex-Rol blinds were engineered to control glare and solar heat while preserving clear, uninterrupted visibility across runways and approach paths. Custom-fitted to inclined tower glazing, the system improves thermal comfort, reduces visual fatigue, and supports safe, reliable air traffic management within this safety-critical aviation environment.
